ECONOMIC VIABILITY ASSESSMENT
MANAGEMENT OF DUCTS/CULVERTS OVER DIFFERENT LIFE PHASES verschiedene Lebensphasen
The management of infrastructures in general, and of ducts and culverts, encompasses a range of activities across different life phases. Against this background, an innovative calculation tool for the holistic management of ducts and culverts has been continuously developed since 2016, which can be used from the first variant calculation through commissioning and operation to renewal.
The precise alignment of the calculation model presented below makes it possible to carry out the management of ducts/culverts in the respective life phases in a well-founded and objective manner, to assess and justify decisions in a transparent and comprehensible manner and, partly, to be able to adequately counter reservations (see following figure). A mutual exchange of information with other systems takes place via clearly defined interfaces.
The mapping of the current state as well as the operational annual planning of measures are tasks with a short time horizon. In addition, budget and measure planning, variants and risks must be analysed for the medium and long term. These must also be able to depict developments over the entire useful life based on assumptions to arrive at well-founded decisions.
The cause-effect diagram is precisely tailored to the application case of the pipeline canal or culvert so that consistent support is possible for annual and longer-term economic planning.
The creation and use of an individual calculation model include the following service components:
- one-time creation/establishment of an individual calculation model incl. the transfer/validation of the data basis
- annual updating and validation of the data from the connected systems and data sources
- Support in the preparation of the annual business plan
- Provision of the results both as an evaluation and in the application itself
